Here we are 29 days into 2010 and we’re already falling behind on our resolution of more consistent blogging. Sorry it’s been a while but I hereby declare that we will get better, starting right now!
Fortunately, most of you that read this were a big part of the final days of our 2009 so you don’t need the recap (enjoy the pictures, though!). For the others, the end of a very crazy year was nothing short of, well, crazy. We are very lucky that the Huebners have a strong Christmas Eve tradition and the Redas have a strong Christmas Day tradition, so we are able to spend some quality time with each family. Christmas Eve with the Huebners started off at church and, after an entertaining mass (the church “band” took themselves a bit too seriously), we headed back to the house for some good food, great wine, and about six hours of opening family presents. We were extremely fortunate to get some awesome gifts, but we all agreed that 2010 Christmas will involve far fewer gifts and a family trip instead. What a compromise!
Christmas morning we woke up very early, opened “Santa” presents, had an amazing breakfast, and then headed up to the Reda’s house, where we met up with the family to hang out and do our Secret Santa exchange. Michael was in heaven as he opened Blu-Ray after Blu-Ray from David and I got the perfect “relaxation” package from Jack that included a bottle of Italian soda, a package of bath salts/swimming ducks and an awesome book (Travels, by Michael Crichton. Read it, it’s incredibly inspirational!). We spent the remainder of the weekend in Manassas and then drove back South to enjoy yet another Christmas with the Cejkas before the work week began again.
After a week back in the real world, we headed up to NoVa again to ring in 2010 with a few of our best friends: Marcus, Sarah, Becca and Greg. We went to the same party that we did last year (James Bond: Around the World), but this year it was held in a different hotel in DC. We had such a great time and really enjoyed creating the first memories of 2010 with such awesome people.
For obvious reasons, 2009 will forever have a special place in our hearts, but we are very eager for all that 2010 will bring. Currently, our already packed calendar includes a Superbowl party at Diana and Ramsay’s beautiful new house, our first Valentine’s Day as a married couple (Michael should just start planning now), Michael’s 26th birthday, a long weekend in New York and Baltimore (and hopefully Topsail), Mama Huebes’ 50th birthday, a trip to Germany for Oktoberfest, my 25th birthday, our first anniversary, Alli’s 21st birthday, a trip out to Vegas for a few days and then skiing in Colorado to wrap up 2010.
Looking forward to another amazing year of wonderful memories. Here’s to another exciting year, happy 2010 to you all.

You did a great job of summing up the last 2 months of the year. I had a great “First Married Christmas” with you and of course NYE was a blast as well!
I love that we’re the only ones that comments on our own website
